The Illinois Raptors & The Mills Athletic Council are committed to player development and being physically fit. Being physically fit goes beyond physical appearance. Physical fitness includes being in good cardiovascular shape and receiving sufficient amount of exercise. Being physically fit goes beyond dieting that leads to looking slim without exercise. It is not out of the ordinary to see an active overweight person be in better cardiovascular shape than a non-active average sized individual. Being physically active is a necessary prerequisite to being physically fit. Most sports require physical exertion and healthy amounts of physical activity. Improved heart rate and blood pressure are two of the numerous health benefits from bring physically fit.The MAC has programs in-place to help prepare our student athletes to advance to next level or just improve as an athlete.
Our Skills trainers will teach the fundamentals and mechanics of good shooting form, controlling the ball while driving the team down court is a necessity. We teach ball handling skills that instill a competitive edge in players, speed and agility that will allow one to drive and on defense force more turnovers.
